Where the world is going – and how to adapt

The current pandemic is as a mirror. It asks us to look at ourselves, our families, our employers, our governments, our society, our species and decide if we like what we see. There are two ways to look into a mirror. At one extreme, we can look into it like Narcissus until we wither into self-congratulatory irrelevance. A better way to look is as Catharsis – seeing what is really there, clearly and honestly – and deciding to deal with it, to grow. Covid throws into stark relief the problems with our society and our organisations and has demonstrated unequivocally that ‘business as usual’ is a recipe for disaster.
