With the ever increasing costs of energy (gas and electric rises of more circa 10% this year already and 30-40% expected over the next 5 years), the subsequent impact on fuel poverty, the drive to decarbonise the grid and the recent Committee on Climate Change reports setting out what the future holds, this session is intended to provide an overview of current Government objectives and policy, the potential impact on housing providers and residents, what social landlords need to be thinking about and some of the options for the future. We will consider the wider drive to eliminate gas heating from new dwellings, the implications of a similar move for existing stock, a possible Decent Homes 2 and the new PAS 2035 Retrofit standard.
