Recent analysis from Shelter reveals that 320,000 people in the UK are recorded as homeless. Despite efforts being made to solve this, that figure is increasing and in the last year the overall number of homeless individuals visibly increased by 13,000 people - meaning one in every 200 people in the UK is either in temporary accommodation or sleeping on the streets. Homelessness is complicated – representing a combination of difficult social and economic issues and often highly individualised circumstances. What’s clear however is that more help and support is needed and that there is no simple or single solution.

In this session you will hear from those either tasked with tackling the problem in their specific region or at wider programme or organisational level. This session will explore:

  • What is the scale of the issue and why is it getting worse?
  • What tools/programmes are being used to tackle the issue on the ground?
  • What would be your one ask of government?
