Many communities want a greater say in what housing is built in their local area. But nimbys they are not, much the opposite in fact.

Over 300 communities in England and Wales have organised themselves into Community Land Trusts. They have built or renovated almost 1,000 homes and have plans for over 5,000 homes in the next few years. With the backing of Government and its £163m Community Housing Fund, there is hope for many more.

This session will focus on the growing community land trust movement, the benefits of community-control and the desire it shares with the wider UK housing industry to create high quality, affordable homes.
